LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech struggled in the final round of the Copy Systems Intercollegiate in Little Rock, Ark., and finished the 14-team tournament in 10th place. Freshmen Mark Hull (San Antonio, Texas) and Brooks Kelly (Sierra Vista, Ariz.) paced Tech with a pair of 22nd place finishes.
The 54-hole event was Tech's second in the last five days. The Red Raiders competed in the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, where the team finished 12th.
In addition to Hull and Kelly, sophomore David Bolen (Austin, Texas) finished in 28th place, while junior Corey Henegar (Austin, Texas) and freshman Trey Pyka (San Antonio, Texas) rounded out the scoring for Tech in 50th and 50 places, respectively.
Tournament host Arkansas-Little Rock won the event by 11 strokes over Stephen F. Austin. Texas-Arlington was third, followed by Southwest Texas, Louisiana-Monroe, UALR (jv), McNeese State, Lamar and UT-San Antonio. The Red Raiders finished ahead of Jackson State, Texas-Pan American, Arkansas Tech, Centenary and Louisiana Tech.
The Red Raiders will hit the links again next Monday and Tuesday at the Bearkat Classic in Huntsville, Texas.
