Husky Men's Golf Sixth After Two Rounds Scutt leads Washington at Pac-10 Championship

Tempe, Ariz. - The Washington men's golf team carded a 724 in two rounds on the first day of the Pac-10 Championship. The Huskies fell from a third place standing after the first round to finish the day off in sixth place. The Arizona State men have taken a commanding lead over the competition, carding a 690 on day one. Oregon is in second place with a total of 707 strokes.

Sophomore Gordy Scutt is pacing the Huskies, tied for eighth place with a score of 141. Scutt lowered his low total of the season by one after firing a 68 in the first round. Sophomore Troy Kelly also cracked the top-20, finishing the day tied at 16th with a score of 143. Senior Justin Miller was in next for Washington, adding a 146 to the team score in his first appearance this season.

Arizona State teammates Paul Casey and Jonas Runnquist finished with the top two scores in the individual field, carding a 131 and a 135 respectively. Both men shot a 66 in the first round, Casey adding another 65 in the second, while Runnquist shot a 69.

The Pac-10 Championships will continue with two more rounds, April 25-26.
